Gallery 7 - Overview: Slide Media: (Click slide for detailed image) Slides have been around some 100 years now and as a corporate media is being used less every year. The format of super slides (40x40mm) can not be duplicated any more.
Hand painted slides are an original piece of art, pattern is digitally generated, output is digital and texture is etched by hand and the color is applied directly with permanent dyes. The result is that I can scan it digitally.
Spot Slides for Burningman Opera Stage:
This series of images are designed as spots and first shown at the Burningman Opera 1999. They worked really well for illuminating the 3 singers of the band and providing a lightshow at the same time on the background.
I divided 120 images between 3 slide projectors. The 3 where spread out infront of the outdoor stage 20' apart, hand held and focused on the singers on stage. I have no images to show of the event, but the many people that showed up with their jaws wide open said it all.
