These images represent extensive kinetic studies completed since 1978 for "body projections" with mainpulated 2k super slides scanned then added to the Final Cut Pro edit.

My intent is to produce a show showcasing the fine art and science of body projections. Worked with fire dancers, bands, modern & ballet
dancers, & now aerialist, pole dancers, DJs and acrobats.

Overview: "Out of the Box"
For a unique solution to enhancing concert tours, fashion shows, bands, grand openings or club environments look no further. Hand painted patterns and textures are projected from multiple directions on people dancing, fountains, smoke from fireworks, building interiors or exteriors.

People are exposed to a "virtual" experience that is never the same twice because of the variety of slides used and programing of multiple projectors. Current Disco light technology utilizes only a small number of patterns that move around in the same redundant pattern.

Thinking "out of the (square) box" mentality of video and slide formats is very liberating. So much so that in 1976 I coined the phrase "out of the box" after getting my BFA in Drawing and Photography form CCAC in Oakland, CA. Then in 1992 I started to contract at Microsoft where I used the phrase "out of the box." The rest is history when people picked it up.

The nature of every media has its own inherent limitations as any magician knows and manipulates to his advantage.

Every media artist wants to be on the "edge" of something new, have a digital something to capture, process and express.

Every artist/performer is only as good as his tools, be they instruments or disciplines. Only intellect and personal drive well be the final judge.
